These disclaimers are part of the MoonCycle Terms of Use. The app shows short versions of them next to each prediction, report and AI text.

Not medical advice, not a medical device

MoonCycle is a tool for tracking your cycle and noticing your own patterns. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition. Nothing in the app replaces a doctor, nurse, midwife or pharmacist. If you are worried about your health, talk to one of them. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States).

Not contraception

Do not use MoonCycle to avoid pregnancy. Its fertile window and ovulation estimates are not birth control. They are not accurate enough to tell you when sex is safe from pregnancy. No app can protect you from sexually transmitted infections.

Predictions are estimates

The app calculates its estimates from what you log and from typical cycle patterns, and may take into account what you tell it about yourself. These include the next period, the fertile window, ovulation and the cycle phase. Cycles vary, and so does every estimate. Stress, illness, travel, medicines, a recent birth, breastfeeding, a change of birth control, pregnancy and missed logs can all make an estimate wrong.

Trying to conceive, pregnancy and perimenopause

The trying-to-conceive mode gives you information only. It cannot tell you when you can get pregnant. It is not a fertility treatment. It is offered in the United States only. The pregnancy and perimenopause modes are for your own notes. They do not monitor a pregnancy or diagnose menopause. If you have been trying to conceive for a while without success, a doctor can help. The same goes for any change in your cycle that worries you.

Patterns "worth raising with a clinician"

The app may point out a pattern in your logs, such as a short phase after ovulation or a large change in cycle length. These are measurements of what you logged, not diagnoses. They are worth mentioning to a doctor, who can look at the whole picture.

Lab results you keep in MoonCycle

MoonCycle keeps the lab results you save on a note, shows them on the note and prints them in the doctor PDF you create. It shows each result as you saved it from your report: the test, the value and unit, and your lab's own reference range and flag. MoonCycle does not tell you what a result means, whether it is normal, or what to do about it. The range and the flag come from your lab, not from MoonCycle, and ranges differ between labs and test methods. Ask your doctor what a result means for you.

If you have a report copied by AI, the AI can misread a value, a unit, a decimal point or a date, or miss a result. Check every row against your report before you save it, and go back to the original report before you rely on a number.

Astrology, numerology, Human Design, BaZi and the birth moon

These features are for reflection and entertainment. They are not science and are not proven to predict anything. They are not health, financial, relationship or legal advice. Do not base important decisions on them.

The app calculates moon and planet positions on your phone with published approximation methods. Results can differ slightly from other sources, especially when a birth time falls near the boundary between two signs.

AI-written text and Ask MoonCycle

An AI model writes the daily note, the analysis in your report, the five-system reading and the answers in Ask MoonCycle. It also writes the transcripts of your voice notes if you choose AI transcription, copies the results from each lab report you send, and sums up your older notes for Ask MoonCycle while "Read my notes" is on. AI text can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate, even when it sounds confident. It is not medical advice.

The AI is not a person, a doctor, a nurse or a therapist, and it does not provide therapy or professional mental health care. It does not diagnose, give doses, judge lab results or say what they mean, tell you whether you are pregnant, or name days that are "safe" from pregnancy. Ask MoonCycle is not for emergencies: if what you write suggests a crisis, it shows crisis and emergency numbers in place of an answer.

We instruct the AI to keep to periods, cycle symptoms and related wellbeing and never to advise on contraception. We cannot guarantee it always follows those instructions. Check anything important with a qualified professional.
